Chris Johns, a partner at Johns Marrs Ellis & Hodge, was recently selected for inclusion in the 24th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America, which highlights the top 5% of practicing attorneys in the U.S. Best Lawyers in America is based entirely on peer review from over 7.4 million evaluations of leading lawyers about the professional abilities of their colleagues within the same geographical and legal practice area.
Chris has won cases for his clients across the country-from state and federal trial and appellate courts to the U.S. Supreme Court. He teaches a course on eminent domain and private-property rights at the University of Texas School of Law. Chris received his J.D. with high honors from UT Law, where he was editor in chief of the Texas Law Review. After clerking for the Honorable Phyllis A. Kravitch of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, Chris attended the University of Oxford and received a postgraduate law degree. Chris has received multiple pro bono service awards, helped train UT’s moot-court teams, and has appeared as a legal expert on television news programs. Texas Super Lawyers Magazine named him to its 2013 and 2014 lists of “Rising Stars,” and to its 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 lists of “Super Lawyers.” He is also a barrister in the Lloyd Lochridge American Inn of Court.
